Reworked Vintage Sweater, By Danè Estes
Artist Statement
This particular piece had it’s own identity, in that it’s shape and material were unique to me, however, it seemed to be very outdated and naturally needed an element of change. I chose to embellish the attitude of the garment by addressing the sleeves, which began short, and ended with the addition of two reformed sleeves stretching far past the base of the garment, both cut asymmetrically, in a complimentary wool boucle.
